StorysHong Kong Photos 2009-05-14
Here are the photos from my skating trip in Hong Kong.
Skating in Hong Kong 2009-05-14 Last weekend my family decided to go to this skatepark that my dad found in Hong Kong. We woke up early in the morning and meet Adrian (my dad’s friend) and Sean (Kyla’s and my friend) and then we all went to the bus terminal to get to Hong Kong. It was really early in the morning, so when we got there, there wasn’t even a line! We got on a bus really quick and then we were off to Hong Kong.
Once in the big city we took numerous subways to get to the park, and even then we still had to walk a ways. When we finally got to the park I was just slightly shocked at how small it was! I had thought that the park would be small, but this one only had one small half-pipe. We got on our pads and helmets and then tested out the ramps.
Although the half-pipe was really small it was kind of hard to skate! It was made out of fake wood and so was super slippery and the coping stuck out really far. Even so I still managed to pull many of my tricks and even to get photos of them. I did rock-n-rolls, frontside rock-n-rolls, backside 50-50s, switch drop-ins, and frontside 50-50s my arch-enemy of all tricks (I have fallen on that trick so many times that now I am terrified of it). The park was kind of fun, because it was so small that there was no need to fear getting hurt on a trick. Skating in Shekou 2008-08-16
So we have moved to Shekou, China. Its pretty different here, but one thing is the same, there are still skateparks... Since my dad loves skating, naturally he had to go to the skatepark right away. When we got there we first went to the skate shop and got a complete deck for my parents and one for my sister and I. Then we wanted to go to the actual park, but there was a contest going on for roller bladers so we couldn't go. Luckily the actual park for the roller bladers wasn't being used as well, so we decided to skate there. It had three little bumps that were fun to go on because it felt like a roller coaster, and there was also a bank and a quater pipe. We didn't have helmets or pads so we took it easy, but it still was a good skating session. Next time we can hopefully go in the bowl...
Skating in the USA 2007-07-20
During this vacation I went to visit Oregon. I had been skating on a mini-wooden ramp for two years now, so skating in a big concrete park was a little bit intimidating. We skated Cal Young the first few days. My dad, my sister, and I all shared one board, so we could only go one at a time. We gradually worked ourselves up to bigger and better tricks. Pretty soon I felt comfortable skating that park again.
One day we went to Churchill. It used to be my favorite park, but looking at the big bowl made me nervous. I wasn't ready to drop something that high, so I didn't.
It was really strange going to the skatepark after 2 years. I did't know anybody who was skating, and before we knew everyone. At first there was some hostility towards Kyla and I, but once the boys saw that we weren't just messing around and buttboarding, they didn?t mind us. It was cool seeing how many more little girls were skating, or trying to. There was a skate camp one of the days we were there and about half of the kids that signed up were girls! What I really noticed when we were at Churchill was that there weren't really many bikers and before I left there were always bikers at Churchill.
It was fun to skate a real ramp again, and I discovered that I really hadn't gotten that much worse!

I got Sponsered!!! 2007-02-11 About a week and a half ago I started looking for another sponserer. My old sponserer, Concrete Divas, died out so I wanted to see if I could get sponsered again. I went to the Skateboard Directory (http://www.skateboarddirectory.com/). I looked up female skateboarding companies and found a company called Bella Girl Boards (BGB), they have really cute clothes and decks, but they didn't have a team page (a team is made up of people the company is sponsering or hiring as pros) so I thought that I wouldn't get sponsered. I sent an e-amil telling them about myself and thought that I wouldn't get a reply, but about a week later I got and e-mail saying that they would love to sponser my sister and I! I was super excited and my sister was too. It just shows that if you try hard to get sponsered you probably can!

About MeHi my name is Zea and my age is 16. I think more girls should skateboard. I like skateboarding and some tricks I know how to do are handplants, frontside grinds, front and backside bertalman slides, nosegrab airs, footplants, switch rock-n-roll, and 50-50 stalls. My favorite trick is the backside grab air and the hardest trick for me is the frontside stall. The funnest trick for me is the handplant and the easiest trick for me is the drop in. I am learning to do tricks switch. My favorite places to skateboard are Ashland, Aumsville, Bethel,DOS (Department of Skateboarding) and Churchhill, but my favorite place is Ashland. Since I am currently living in China I finally have a skatepark to practice in! To find out more about these parks go to my skateparks page. The place I practice at is the skatepark near my school. I skateboard every weekend with my sister, dad, and sometimes my mom. My mom and dad skateboard so do my sister and I my sister is 13 years old she knows how to do rock-n-roll, backside slash grinds, and backside stalls. She is in eigth grade.
I think everybody should wear safety equipment when they are skateboarding. The pads I wear are knee pads, elbow pads, a helmet, and wrist guards.

Feb, 11th, 2007A while ago I decided that I needed a logo for myself. That way people could mabey use it as a link to my site if they wanted. So I made this logo on Coral. It was really hard and it doesn't look perfect but I like it and I hope that other people like it as well.
